Plot
Popular actress Hwa Yeo-rae gained fame by promoting a soda brand and other products. She starred in a number of popular films, but her last film received poor reviews, with viewers belittling her acting and making fun of her catchphrase. Yeo-are, who is upset over the reception to her previous film, travels to the fictitious island paradise of Qualla, where she meets Jonathan Na, a real estate mogul who seems too good to be true. They irritate Yeo-rae (“It’s Goooood!”). Yeo-rae has ended her acting profession because she is depressed and lonely. One such supporter is Yeo-rae’s next-door neighbor Beom-woo, an uninspired teen and three-time test-failure who, after a chance encounter with Yeo-rae, starts to assist her in planning the assassination of her husband.
Jonathan is being chased off by a vengeful ostrich who has followed him from the island as he makes a last-ditch effort to reach Yeo-rae. Yeo-rae returns to acting with some measure of success, and her devoted fan base enthusiastically supports her rekindled career.
Story
They start talking to each other covertly. Before deciding to turn Jonathan’s ego against him, several ideas, including an allergy attack, vehicle crash, and paper plane injuries, are abandoned. Yeo-rae takes her husband to the sauna, where she and Beom-woo issue a challenge to make him sweat to death in the jjimjilbang. Despite the success of the plot, Beom-woo is unable to carry out the murder and intervenes to save Jonathan. While Yeo-rae is trying a second murder, reverting to the prior allergy attack theory, Jonathan extends a gracious invitation to the teen and strikes up a friendship with him. Unaware of Beom-woo’s true identity, Jonathan also asks him over for dinner.
When the attempt fails, Yeo-rae bids Beom-woo farewell with tears in her eyes before moving permanently to Qualla with Jonathan to work on his new theme. Beom-woo tries to rescue her from the island out of guilt but is unsuccessful. Yeo-rae is still imprisoned on the island with the last ostriches whose habitat was destroyed during the construction of Jonathan’s theme park, despite jumping off a cliff to escape her husband.
To promote the inauguration of the park, the pair eventually makes a trip back to Seoul. Beom-woo gathers friends to crash the event after seeing advertisements for it and is motivated to assist Yeo-rae in becoming free at last. When they first arrive, Jonathan and his security crew appear to have the upper hand, but when a handful of Yeo-rae’s ardent supporters show up singing her theme song, the situation changes.
In the post-credits sequence, a sunburned and dehydrated Jonathan flounders in the water while desperately pleading for his security.
